#348 Vapor
With steam being the most common example of vapor, I am sharing another meal shot with you for this theme: Perogies with Kale (and a sliced turkey dog/smokie)...and yes, I have a 'thing' for kale! Photo has not been edited and the yellow tinge to the perogies is actually turmeric.

#323 The Wild Sideof the city that is! Also spotted this little one during our walk to the grocery store! Although he was on residential property, the street he crossed is a busy one, and is located right in the city--evidenced by the graffiti which probably would not be present in a rural setting...just another reminder that people and wildlife do coexist in the city. There have been cougar sightings here recently too...just glad we didn't stumble across a big cat instead.

#5 Abandonedby his owner? perhaps! and maybe, just maybe, a passerby placed him in the protective custody of this tree until he is reunited with his owner again---at least that is what I thought! I noticed him during our walk to the grocery store and just HAD to take a pic of course...

#152 Hours, Days, Months, YearsWho knew that checking my email today would result in another theme being filled? Not me! I probably will miss welcoming this 'exact moment in time' due to it's early AM arrival, but it's fun to know about nonetheless...at least to me because I like these sorts of useless bits of info! lol

#Candlelight
I am stretching the candlelight theme by not having them lit but I love how the picture turned out so I am using it anyways! *tsk tsk, I know! lol*

#150 HolesThis little wren has coupled up and made a home in that hole and although I took plenty of photos of this little birdhouse, none turned out as fab as I intended them to.

#148 HistoricOn August 31, 2006 Butchart Gardens received formal recognition as a National Historic Site of Canada with the unveiling of the commemorative plaque shown above.
The exquisite Sunken Garden...
and looking into the Japanese Garden:
All of the garden shots filling the recent themes were taken out at Butchart Gardens...no, my garden does not look anything like this! lol Remember, I have a black thumb! *grin* I probably stretched the themes thin with this series, but it is just so beautiful out there, that I wanted to share as many pics as I could. I shall be posting more pics to my primary blog in the days to come for those that wish to see a wee bit more...

#282 Sign, Sign, Everywhere a SignAlthough I'm sure many folks miss the signs because
they are too busy taking in all that is around them!
We've seen something "new to us" each and every time we've been out there...there is just so much to see! Absolutely gorgeous and is a perfect way to spend a day.

#66 CornersThe view from every corner of the Italian Gardens is stunning, but this rose tree, situated on one corner of the pond, really captured my attention.
The Italian Garden (one of several themed gardens at Butchart Gardens) was created in 1926 when it replaced the owner's tennis court.
Lots of Orton effect being used on this series of photos---I think it works well!

#28 BlueMeconopsis-->Tibetan Blue Poppy
is one of my favourite flowers found at the Gardens
because it's not as common as other flowers
and because it is such a pretty colour too...
I don't know if it's edible, but one can definitely eat AT it!

#356 What Am I?Asked without an answer! Another pic from Butchart Gardens. I'll have more than a few more to share before the day is over! I don't know what this is---I keep meaning to ask the staff out there but haven't yet...
so if you know, please share with me!

#340 Turkey or FowlWe were also reunited with this quail during our trip to Pender...he has been visiting our relatives on a daily basis for a few years now, and is as handsome as fowl can be!

#110 FreeThe Car-Stop program on North and South Pender Islands is a hit with locals and tourists since it began officially last year---unofficially it's been happening for years around many of the Gulf Islands. There are now designated spots where one can wait to indicate that they are in need of a ride to various destinations around the Islands. Snapped this picture while we were out walking the country roads this past weekend, but we could have had a ride if we really wanted (or needed) one! *grin*

#306 StripesThe colourful stripes of this tea towel are the perfect setting for the fresh basil plant which currently resides in my kitchen...smells good and looks good too! I should have smoothed out the wrinkles first though, eh? lol

#351 WarningsWarning with a BIG OLE SMILE!
This Climenhaga Observatory Ash Dome at the University is home to a 0.5-m F/10.5 Cassegrain Telescope...the barely visible warning in this pic is a reminder to stay clear of the dome because of the automated telescope within.

#313 SwimWhile we were not prepared to go swimming during
our visit to Bright Angel Park, these youngsters were!
These pictures were taken yesterday while crossing the suspension bridge shown in the previous post.
