#268 School
Remember my #9 Christ Church Cathedral post? Well, this is the other side of that building...Christ Church Cathedral School. The gymnasium-church hall was remodelled to provide a home for the Cathedral School. It is the only Anglican school in Canada that is attached to a Cathedral. I know very little about this place--I had to look all this stuff up! I walk by it all the time and do know that is a magnificent-looking building (built 1926) where children in uniform enter each morning. I've also learned from their website that they have to wear their uniforms to and from school, not just during school hours.

What a gorgeous old school! I truly wish there were more buildings like this! So much character!
This is a wonderful old building. I wonder what it would be like to go to school there? I love seeing kids going to school wearing uniforms. Wish my kids wore them!
What a grand old building! Beautiful! You have presented it for us to view at the best possible time. Once the trees leaf out, the view of the building itself would be obscured - presenting a different scene. Now, the setting is perfect for showing off the building. The sky, the way the trees frame the building and the colors are all perfect.
Great shot of a beautiful building. The interesting part for me was the uniform issue. I think there should be more of that. When I joined the Army in 1967, it was compulsory to wear uniform in "Civvy Street" Parade best at all time. Woe Betide anyone who disgraced the uniform. When I was ready for discharge the circle had turned and wearing of uniform was not recommended outside camp. Bloody Shame.
Most of our private schools are like that here too. I always see them in their unis on their way to school. Beautiful building and great shot for this theme!
Isn't is amazing what's in our own backyards? Very interesting. I really like how you framed this.
A wonderful shot of a stately old building.
Great shot of a beautiful old building. The stone is gorgeous. It looks like it is so well kept up.
What a fabulous building! One of the public school systems near hear have introduced a uniform policy. Nothing really uniformy, khaki pants and a burgundy knit shirt. The parents LOVE it! Saves them a lot of money~
