This Mungo Martin totem was dedicated on July 2, 1956 in Victoria's Beacon Hill Park. At 38.8 metres (127 feet) tall, it is the largest freestanding totem pole in the world. Due to weather elements and natural decay of the cedar pole, it was taken down in November of 2000, preserved, restored, and proudly resurrected again a year later. The restoration was based on the original 1956 effort, where 10 000 50-cent shares in the pole were sold. This time, approx. $185 000 was raised from $5 shares and other donations to fund the 'To Rise Again' project.
and here is a pic of it (taken during summer) surrounded by all the glorious greens and gold of nature

Your photographs are always wonderful. You select the most interesting and colorful sites that can be imagined. And this just meets your standards. It is a beautiful totem. Great that it was lovingly restored too. Hope it remains well for generations to come. Thanks for bringing it to us.
