#219 Out West
Out west is where you find the end of the Trans Canada Highway. (Of course to us living here, it is the start!) The TCH is the world's longest national road, extending east-west for 4,860 mi (7,821 km) between Victoria, British Columbia, and St. John's, Newfoundland. Completed in 1965, it links many major Canadian cities and provides access to important national and provincial parks. This mile "0" marker is the most westerly point of the highway and is walking distance from my home.

I did not know this about the TCH, I live close to the 103 in Nova Scotia, I remember when it was built! Great theme!

I think I want to move in with you! Ah, to live in such a gorgeous area, it must be breathtaking to wake up to this every day!

SOMEDAY...we're gonna drive the TCH. We've been on a bit of it. We're campers, and we have a map of the states and provinces on the side of the camper. The goal is to add on at least one each year. This year, it will be Manitoba. Since we live in Connecticut, reaching the Pacific coast is going to be a challenge--but we home to make it someday and see that marker in person.

I have actually been on the trans-Canada highway. I enjoyed my visit there, too.
